Day 1
It is day 1 of my 4 month rice fast. I had Aaron set up the rice cooker last night so that the rice would be done in the morning. When I woke up, I set aside 4 bowls with lids for the rice, 2 for me and 2 for Aaron, who is also doing the fast with me. I ate the first bowl for breakfast and drank a liter of water. I helped a coworker with one of her papers and then went for a walk downtown. I walked a mile, and jogged for three blocks. It wasn't exactly what I wanted to do (which was jog one block, walk one block, jog one block, etc.) but it was a good start. I also went down an extra block so that instead of walking on level ground, I walked up a huge hill back to my office. I really wanted to hula hoop, but I forgot to get the hoop out of my car and couldn't really get back out of the office. Then, I made my tea and ate my other bowl of rice. I have been sipping on tea and drinking water all afternoon. I have to admit that I feel better already, and I also ate a couple teaspoons of peanut butter to curb some cravings I've been having. I figure it will give me a little protein boost too until I get my vitamins. So far, it's gone really great, but I know I'm going to have a hard road ahead of me.
